'Double-petty came into play here:' Bus driver happily passes notorious regular running late, passenger then attempts pettiness but the joke was really still on him

If you didn't realize, being a public bus driver is not an easy job. The hours are bonkers, working holidays and in crazy weather. It's your fault if there is traffic and somebody is late. And public transit always has a few colorful characters on the regular, to say the least. That's why it's common to hear people saying "thank you" to the driver as they get off of their stop. Some regulars will even bring their drivers snacks or beverages to keep them happy. 

So when a regular rider is constantly entitled and just bad vibes, don't expect that driver to do them a solid and wait if they're running down the sidewalk. That's what this bus driver encountered according to their short but double-petty Reddit story. 

They are a bus driver and have a regular who is simply the worse. They are entitled and treat them as if the bus is their personal chauffeur and yell at them often for things that they have nothing to do with. So when this bus driver saw them running late one day, they could have waited for them, but decided not to. So they drove off, satisfied to not have to deal with the notorious regular. 

Until they came back to that stop hours later to find them still standing there. The petty rider decided to miss every single bus scheduled after him just so he could get back on and look the driver in the eyes. However, joke was still on him because he was the last bus off the night, which meant the regular missed his connecting bus and had to cab from the bus terminal. 

So who won the pettiness game this time?
